Wild Alberta Mountain Engagement
Adventurous Alberta Mountain Engagement

This is Katie + Josh
I’m probably going to get a little emotional over this one. I met Katie, her mom, and her sweet youngest sister Hannah back in November 2018. They were helping Katie plan her wedding, and I just so happened to be apart of this step. I fell in love with the very small story Katie shared with me and how they met. Their story is like nothing else I have ever heard, and in this very moment, they put a stamp on my heart quickly. Every love story is unique, and is full of so much adventure. It really becomes my favourite thing to become apart of it as our time together moves forward to your . wedding or elopement date. Something about Katie and Josh promised me an amazing year together, and very likely a lasting friendship. For which I am BEYOND, grateful for. Katie and Josh met on a mission trip in Belize, and the first day they laid eyes on each other, that was it. History was made. Josh is from Colorado, and unfortunately I couldn’t make it there to photograph them but fortunately, we did their adventurous mountain engagement session a week exactly before their country side wedding where I (finally) met Josh for the first time and like I knew before - we became pals. We hung out in the mountains and I shared multiple locations with them that have a set spot on my heart. Needless to say, they also loved them. Altogether we photographed about three hours together in Canmore and I almost didn’t want to leave!
The weather for us was moody, just as it usually is during most of my mountain engagement sessions. But I wouldn’t have it any other way if I’m honest. It lets us enjoy sun, and then wind, and then rain, and sometimes, a full on storm, which we got exactly that! We hung out until the very end and I was grateful they were willing to get into Abraham Lake with me. I had a particular vision in mind and I really wanted wild weather. It truly felt like FOREVER waiting for what seemed to be happening 92% of the time we were already photographing (rain, of course) and it cleared up for just before we go to the water. And so, we waited, and we waited..for probably close to half an hour. Eventually we got a cloud and we seriously got poured on and it was FREEZING — but oh my gosh, GO LOOK AT THE PHOTOS! Needless to say, SO worth it!
